Three stones in strong, vivid tones adorn these models in the PIUMA collection. Handmade by a resin that reproduces the effect of stone, these three PIUMA colors are inspired by Agate, Carnelian and Amethyst and their symbolism.
Amethyst is a variety of quartz, characterized by the presence of purplish shades. It often originates in sub-alkaline basaltic rocks. Known to man since 3,000 BC, this crystal was mined and venerated in Egypt, South Africa and Mesopotamia.
The name amethyst derives from the Greek “améthystos” meaning “not drunk”, an etymology at the basis of one of the most fascinating myths in history.
