Known as "nakar" in the Philippines, Mother of Pearl holds a place steeped in legend rather than certainty. Tales abound about the largest pearl ever found, weighing 6.38kg, dubbed the Pearl of Allah or the Pearl of Lao-Tzu, retrieved in May 1934 in Palawan, Philippines. It's said that a diver lost his life during its retrieval. This exquisite gray and purple ink, enhanced with silver shimmer, pays homage to the Philippines, often referred to as the Pearl of the Orient.
